Most people I know that have essential oils have one time or another (or still do) had oils they’ve never used before, simply because they didn’t know what to use them for. In fact, its so common that many people have asked me to go over some oils that typically people will buy, and share some of their many uses.
Know this, you don’t have to be an expert on oils to use them. Half the time I go to a book that I will look up what I can use for certain things and what I can do with certain oils. It’s okay if you don’t know how to use every oil!
First and foremost, make sure you’re using good, high-quality oils. If you can buy a set of 10 oils at the grocery store for $25… I promise, you might as well go shred your money. They’re junk. Questions on what essential oils brands are good, leave a comment or contact me and I’ll be glad to help you with that!
Essential oils are safe and effective, and have several uses for many different things we experience on a daily. They’re gifts from the earth to provide the benefits we need both physically, emotionally, and mentally – there’s a reason so many people use them, because they are seeing benefits. So if you don’t have essential oils, you really need to get some. And if you already have essential oils, lets get you to start using them!!
So there are several oils to choose from, and maybe one day I’ll go over all of them (if thats possible lol) but for starters I’m going to go over 10 different oils that are very common that people get, but not know what they’re good for. One thing to know about essential oils is that they can be used three different ways: internally, topically, and aromatically. If they have a nutrition label, they are safe to take internally (BTW if you have an oils for instance, Lemon, and it doesn’t have a nutrition label on it or says not safe to ingest… get rid of the bottle cuz it’s not essential oil).
Lavender: can be taken internally, topically, and aromatically. Most people use this for emotionally trauma such as anxiety, depression, loss, abuse, etc. its very good for calming. Also good for burns, blisters, rashes, skin in general, hair loss, and sleep! You can apply it to the targeted area for things such as burns, or bottoms of your feet, behind ears, on wrists, (all areas of big pores on your skin) or inhaling or diffusing.
Melaleuca (Tea Tree): can be taken internally, topically, and aromatically. This is also good for the skin. Any open wounds or infections, cold sores, canker sores, acne, ear aches (apply behind ear or rub around ear, not dropping in ear), itching, and lice. You can apply it to the targeted area for things such as wounds, or bottoms of your feet, behind ears, and on wrists.
Lemon: can be taken internally, topically, and aromatically. Citrus is very calming and uplifting, so lemon is really good for any mental or emotional trauma, like Lavender. It’s very cleansing, detoxing, helps with unwanted weight, digestion, heart burn, and sore throats. Also good for house cleaning… pretty much on anything! You can apply it to the targeted area, or bottoms of your feet, behind ears, on wrists, throat, or inhaling or diffusing.
Peppermint: can be taken internally, topically, and aromatically. Very good for headaches, inflammation, sunburns, and cooling. Also helps you focus and stay alert, asthma, cramps, fainting, and heat strokes. You can apply it to the targeted area such as head or inflamed area, or bottoms of your feet, behind ears, on wrists, or inhaling or diffusing.
Eucalyptus: can be used topically and aromatically. Very good for relaxing, muscle stimulation, cooling, brain blood flow, jet lag, and coughing. You can apply it to the targeted area such as head or inflamed area, or bottoms of your feet, behind ears, on wrists, or inhaling or diffusing. You can apply it to the targeted area such as inflamed area, or bottoms of your feet, behind ears, on wrists, or inhaling or diffusing.
Frankincense: can be taken internally, topically, and aromatically. This oil is literally for everything. Nuff said. If you have any question of what to use for something, frankincense is the the perfect oil for anything! Think of something? Use this oil. You can apply it to the targeted area, bottoms of your feet, behind ears, on wrists, or inhaling or diffusing.
Oregano: can be taken internally, topically, and aromatically. Although used in cooking for the most part, the oil is the perfect antibiotic! Always dilute though, because it’s a very hot oil. Use for any type of sickness, and is also good for warts. You can apply it to the targeted area, or bottoms of your feet, behind ears, on wrists, or inhaling or diffusing. BUT REMEMBER TO DILUTE!
On Guard: can be taken internally, topically, and aromatically. Used for any type of sickness, especially when you feel like you’re coming down with something – take this consistently! Also very good with cleaning anything. Commonly used with Lemon both ways. You can apply it to the targeted area such as throat, or bottoms of your feet, behind ears, on wrists, or inhaling or diffusing. Probably should be diluted because the cinnamon in the oil blend makes it a little bit of a hot oil.
