Who I Am Today
I choose to make my life simple, and heres how I do it:
- I meal plan and prep for the week every Sunday before the new week starts and put it on the calendar – make a shopping list.
- I choose healthier options as often as I can get away with it – even if a meal isn’t as healthy as you want it, adding other healthier options with it is better than nothing (i.e. salad, cooked veggies, plate of vegetable or fruits, etc.)
- I make sure and schedule a time in my days for a workout – whether at the gym, at home, or going for a run, and even if its only for 30 minutes it’s absolutely necessary to keep sane… and I’m 100% serious!
- I have a designated water bottle I take with me everywhere I go and track how much I drink so I know I’m getting the amount I need.
- I take daily supplements I trust, making sure I’m getting the nutrients I need – its hard to get the full nutrients from foods we buy because of all the processing… even if you buy everything organic, still need ’em.
- I use essential oils for my mental and emotional health on the daily, giving me a sense of uplift, calming, focus, and energy to get through the day.

When you live a healthy lifestyle, the people around you tend to catch on eventually. I have an amazing husband, two wonderful goofball step-sons, and two dog sons I get to all call mine! Since I didn’t have the chance to raise my boys their whole lives (and my husband’s) the way they are use to living isn’t… well… ideally healthy. Changing a diet is difficult, and as a mom and housewife I often tend to feel like I’m failing. Feeding my family who isn’t use to eating home cooked meals, having any fruits or vegetables, or really having any quality foods whatsoever… ha um CHALLENGE!! But I AM making progress because I’m consistent!

Being a stay-at-home mom has its perks, and it has it’s cons. But we grow from them. So instead of giving in to the life of fast food and cold cereal for meals, which in most cases seem easier to do, I make the time to meal plan, prep, and choose the healthier route in all aspects – which in the end, makes life way easier. Healthy family leads to a happy family! Less time spent at the doctor, right?! Everyday is a challenge, but usually ends as a blessing 😉
